Workers body length 18–19 mm; queens: 18–19 mm; males: 18–20 mm.
Medium sized wasps. Uniform dark to reddish brown. Pronotum striate, with carina separating its dorsal and lateral sides. Dorsal mesepisternal groove lacking.
Specialised in caterpillars. Adults feed on tree sap (e.g. Citrus). Nest small and attached to vegetation, with a pedicel, its and cells' axes forming a right angle.
